February 4 - Ice Fishing: Basics
& Extreme Techniques
Dana Durkee, of Haverhill's River Street Bait and Tackle,
will share his knowledge of local ice fishing basics and extreme techniques,
including safety tips, choosing the right gear, designing the right sled,
jigging, cooking, using technology to target trophy fish, and getting young
people interested in the sport.
February 11 - Merrimack River Carp & Shad
Roger Aziz, Jr. has been a Merrimack Valley fishing guide
for more than 30 years, and holds several Massachusetts records and gold pins.
He will share his 40+ years of experience, including techniques and practical
ways to catch big fish.
February 18 - Stripers! 24/7!
Strap yourself in, because Ron Powers is going to give
you an insider's view of what it takes to catch striped bass, from schoolie to
50-pounder, from boat, and by boot, from May through late October. And just
maybe a pointer or two about stripers that are swimming in the harbor right
now!
February 25 - Surfland Chronicles
Martha Moulton Dudley provides expert repairs of rods and
reels in the Plum Island family business her parents founded in 1960. She'll
share Surfland Bait & Tackle's storied past, and talk about growing up in
the world of fishing.
